5 Star Title Group, Inc was founded by Laura Caruthers in 2006, on the principals of offering great customer service to buyers and sellers, Realtors, Lenders and her employees.
Laura believes that taking care of people, in all roles of life, is important and wanted to have a company where customers had a place to go to get great customer service as well as good information. She has surrounded herself with a strong team that has strong values and cares about their work.
Most of all, she and her team believes in the Golden Rule, do unto others as you’d have them do unto you.

Owner / Closing Officer
Laura has been a licensed title agent since 2001 and she opened 5 Star Title in 2006.
Laura started her career in banking, quickly moving to title insurance in 1993. She has worked in every role of title insurance from searching, to typing commitments, processing and closing, to policy production.
Laura is also a Real Estate Broker Associate, as well as a licensed Mortgage Loan Officer.
Laura has an all around perspective on the real estate closing process, so she is always available to assist with issues and solutions! Laura’s outlook on business is: “treat people well, assist in all that you can and customers will remember you, recommend you and return to you!”
Laura is married, has two adult children, one darling granddaughter and multiple animals on their family compound!
Closing Officer / Office Manager
Tonya is a Licensed Title Agent and our 5 Star Title Team Closing Officer, as well as office Manager.
She is a Florida Native with over 10 years’ experience in the Title and Real Estate Industry, familiar with all aspects of the closing process.
She oversees the day to day in the office and provides her clients with the support needed to get to the closing table. She has worked the last 5 consecutive years closing sales, purchases, refinances and construction loans; she knows her way around a closing, in and out.
When she is not closing files, she can be found spending family time with her husband and their three children, traveling the state for their various sporting events.
Closing Processor
Amy is the Closing Processor for 5 Star Title Group and has been part of the team since 2021.
Amy is the one behind the scenes ordering your estoppels, payoffs, surveys, etc. Before starting in title, she spent 10 years working for Publix and was involved in multiple store fundraising partnerships including United Way, March of Dimes and Habitat for Humanity.
Amy was born and raised in Fort Myers and is happiest when she is at the beach. When she’s not behind the scenes processing closings, she can be found at church or at home with her husband, family, their 2 dogs, 2 turtles, chickens, cows and partridge in a pear tree.
Pre & Post Processor
Kirsten is the Pre – and – Post Closing Processor for 5 Star Title Group and has been part of the team since 2022.
Kirsten is the one who opens the contracts and orders the initial searches, she also the one who reaches out to you for information for the closing process.
Kirsten is also a Real Estate Agent who has partnered with her mother Laura Caruthers, the owner of 5 Star Title Group.
Before starting in title, she worked at Gindele Family Chiropractic and worked on the cosmetic team of Frantz Eye Care. Kirsten was born and raised in Fort Myers, FL.
When she’s not opening your contracts and sending out escrows, you can find her at a barrel race, out on the airboat with her husband and 2 year old daughter, hanging out with their friends and kids, or relaxing around the compound with her 2 doggos!
